Bernadette Detera is a young space professional active in the areas of satellite technology applications, space education, and sustainability. She is currently working in the field of space situational awareness as an Technical Support Engineer at LSAS Tec Co.,Ltd, a trusted solution provider to commercial space ventures, systems integrators and government customers utilizing AGI technology. Prior to that, she worked as a researcher in Keio University, Japan working on big data analysis, remote sensing and using geospatial information to improve disaster management and urban planning. Additionally, she serves as the Global Network Coordinator at the Moon Village Association (MVA) where she is overseeing the organization’s activities all over the world to spread awareness of and promote sustainable lunar activities. She is also currently one of the senior leaders at the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) supporting the UN Programme of Space Applications. In her role as the Regional Coordinator, she is heavily involved in outreach, space education and capacity-building activities for the next generation of space leaders in the Asia-Pacific region. Finally, Bernadette has a background in business and engineering, is a Masters degree holder in Systems Engineering and has worked in Management Consulting prior.
